Field Coordinator

 


 

The Education Trust seeks a Field Coordinator to join the organization’s Division of Government Affairs and Communications. Founded in 1992, The Education Trust works for the high academic achievement of all students, pre-kindergarten through college, with the goal of closing the gaps in opportunity and achievement that separate low-income students and students of color from other youth.  

 

The Field Coordinator will play a key role in an exciting initiative to expand and intensify the impact of The Education Trust’s efforts to improve education throughout the nation. Reporting to the Field Director, the Field Coordinator’s primary responsibility will be to assist in implementation of program goals that identify, educate, and mobilize key organizations outside of Washington, DC, around The Education Trust’s message and policy proposals. Major Responsibilities

 

The Field Coordinator responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

·         Research and identify opportunities for outreach to key constituencies.

·         Nurture relationships with organizations and individuals to engage, educate, and mobilize them around The Education Trust’s mission.

·         Coordinate field outreach activities with The Educations Trust’s policy and practice staff to maximize organizational strategic goals and priorities.

·         Represent The Education Trust externally in a variety of forums.

·         Work with the Field Director to evaluate, plan, and implement field strategies.

 

 

Qualifications and Experience

 

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

 

  • Experience in supporting the growth of an extensive national field operation.
  • Demonstrated ability to set goal and prioritize work effectively.
  • A successful track record as an effective team player.
  • Ability to think creatively and systemically and to capitalize on external opportunities.
  • Ability to plan and execute outreach and advocacy work.
  • Experience working collaboratively with diverse organizations.
  • Excellent organizational, oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-starter and ability to work independently.
  • Commitment to The Education Trust’s mission.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.

Travel required approximately 8-12 days per month.

 

Compensation

 

Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.  The Education Trust offers a comprehensive benefits package.
