    The Education Trust—West

     

    The Education Trust—West (ETW) seeks a full-time Practice Associate to help inform, focus, and coordinate ETW’s work on closing achievement and opportunity gaps, working with schools and districts around California and other western states.

     

    The Education Trust—West works for the high academic achievement of all students at all levels, kindergarten through college, to forever close the achievement gaps that separate low-income students and students of color from other youth. Our basic tenet is this:  All children will learn at high levels when they are taught to high levels.     Major Responsibilities

     

    Practice Associate duties include, but are not limited to: 

    • Primary analysis of transcripts as part of EdTrust--West's Audit Program
    • Create reports and graphics reflecting that analysis in all of our High School Reform partner districts
    • Analysis of master schedules and course guides
    • Analyzing enrollment, achievement, and attainment data
    • Assisting in the production of ETW Audit and Blueprint reports and presentations
    • Compile, transcribe, and analyze data from focus group and community conversation meetings
    • Participate in school visits in partner districts
    • Participate in overall research, data collection, and product production of/off the Practice Team as needed
    • Assisting in the production of the ETW newletters and reports for partner districts
    • Finding, reading, evaluating, and summerizing research regarding effective practices and policies around accerlerated learning, student assessment, accountability, rigorous curricula, and high standards and goals for all, including writing synopses and reports

    Qualifications

    • Highly analytical, ability to see trends and synthesize complex information
    • Strong experience in school data collection and analysis
    • Familiarity/experience with issues of access, teacher quality, instructional practice, and curriculum as they relate to raising achievement
    • Results-oriented, achievement-driven aproach to tasks
    • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
    • Ability to work independently and take initiative
    • Ability to collaborate well with others, both inside and outside the organization
    • Ability to communicate findings from policy and data analysis to a diverse audience
    • Experience with and ability to balance multiple demands and deadlines with composure
    • Knowledge of issues relevant to education and the achievement gap
    • 2-3 years high school teaching experience, preferably in California public schools
    • Bachelor's degree required
    • Excellent communication skills, both pral and written, are essential

    Compensation

    Salary is commensurate with experience, within the parameters of the Education Trust compensation scale. EXCELLENT benefits package provided.
