Dr. Carolyn Mahoney is Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs and Provost of Elizabeth City State University. Before the appointment to her current post, she served as Dean of the ECSU School of Mathematics, Science and Technology. Prior to arrival at ECSU she earned 10 years of higher education experience at California State University, San Marcos where she served as one of 12 founding faculty, Chairperson of the Department of Mathematics, and Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs. Mahoney also has served as Program Director in the Office of Systemic Reform at the National Science Foundation. Mahoney holds a B.S. degree in Mathematics from Siena College, Memphis, Tenn.; a M.S. and a Ph.D. in Mathematics from The Ohio State University.
