You know what they say… when the going gets tough, the gap-closers get going.
Each year, hundreds of educators and advocates from all over the country descend on the Washington area for The Education Trust’s national conference. While they come from different places—from cities, towns, and suburbs and from schools and districts big and small--they come for the same things: smart ideas, bold strategies, and pure inspiration. Never before have these things been more important for educators than now.
So we are ramping up to make the 2009 conference our best yet. We’re packing three crisp November days with the most powerful gap-closing evidence, the most robust and proven strategies, and the most ground-shaking change agents in education.
If you are committed to closing the gaps, convinced it can be done, and hungry for the strategies to do it, this is your conference.
But don’t take our word for it. Here’s what educators, advocates, and others have to say:
“The conference was wonderful and very informative. The people I met and the contacts I made are priceless. It's great to know that others are working toward the same goal, and that is educating our youth and finding ways to close the gaps in education.”—2008 attendee
“The school presentations were superb. I immediately came home and implemented some of their thoughtful strategies…. Very impressive.”—2008 attendee
“Because of Ed Trust’s hard work and data, this conference gives hope to many educators who are committed to providing the best education possible for students of poverty and color.” — 2007 attendee
